Greetings Folks!

It's finally spring and I am proud to announce that contemporary Jazz artist Shannon Butcher and I have teamed up to co-headline a tour of Ontario and Quebec in Canada. Both Shannon and I are really pleased to be able to bring our music to the cities of Hamilton, London, Kingston, Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto. Please have a look at the dates for the "Up Jumped Spring" tour on the Upcoming Shows page and let your pals know that we are on our way!!

Meanwhile we have updated this home page to include a number of places where you can stay in touch with developments in the "Micah Barnes" world. There is now an official Blog to keep fans and friends informed about the developments as my brother Daniel Barnes and I begin the finishing touches on a new recording. Please do check back on the Blog to see pics and hear stories about how our Tour is going as well!

The songs towards the next recording are coming along, (you are listening to a live recording of "Inside Out" as you read this), and we've started working with Juno award winning producer Jeff Wolpert (Holly Cole, Loreena McKinnett) on how to record this batch of material. You can hear some of the new music posted up on our Myspace Page. Please do give us feedback on your favorites etc. as that will influence the final track list!

In other news we filmed the Valentine's show "Body and Soul" at Toronto's Cameron House and will be posting a fresh clip up on You Tube soon. In the meantime you can view our very first public performance of "I Came Back" from last fall's show in Toronto's Queen's Park.
Also for those of you who don't know I am also a busy vocal and performance coach for my fellow recording and touring artists. Information about the upcoming private coaching and group workshops I will be coaching in Toronto and Los Angeles is kept updated on the Singers Playground site.

And, oh yeah, I will be Twittering too, as soon as my laptop allows me to create the account! A busy guy's gotta stay in touch with his loved ones somehow right?
